I Decided to Pursue Training and Education as a Coach Because: I have a strong passion and enthusiasm for the sport. I also find an immense about of pride helping others achieve their goals.
My Most Rewarding Coaching Experience: Having your athletes reach heights they never thought they could. Helping them take a risk and achieving well beyond the goals they ever expected. The Best Thing about Being a Coach: Working with various types of athletes who are at different levels and have varying goals is the best thing about being a coach. I also love having that opportunity to work one on one with them.
My Area of Coaching Expertise: Running and Triathlons
My Strongest Coaching Quality: Believing in the athlete. I have also gained the majority of my own experience through the coaches I have had. I learned quickly what has worked and what has not worked and I use that in my own coaching. Communication is key in being a quality coach.
What I Would Not Change: In my four years of running in college, I would not change taking the summers to devote to triathlon season. This allowed me to stay fresh and injury free going into cross country and track seasons. It also helped shape who I am today.
Individualized Program: A coach will look at your goals and design a program that fits your level and help you achieve your goals.
Motivation: Individuals can benefit from a coach because many of us lose motivation to stick with a consistent exercise program. Coaches can provide structure and accountability, and help you develop a lifestyle that encourages health!
